Egg Safety

Morning Fresh Farms has extensive production operations and ensures quality and freshness before shipping eggs to customers across the country.

In addition to the several national quality assurance programs our farms participate in, our teams also implement on-farm safety practices to ensure the quality and safety of our eggs and egg products.

Team members participate in ongoing, intensive training to understand our food safety and handling procedures and policies, and our farms undergo third-party audits to ensure we meet our own expectations for food safety.

Hen Well-being

Providing a safe, comfortable environment for our hens is a top priority at Morning Fresh Farms. Housed in climate-controlled, cage-free barns, our flocks have room to move freely and express natural behaviors, along with constant access to food and water.

Dedicated animal care team members oversee our flocks daily, ensuring their health and well-being while working alongside veterinarians to address concerns quickly. By embracing evolving best practices and ongoing team training, we remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of animal care.

Comprehensive employee training in animal care and handling, combined with third-party audits, helps us ensure that we are meeting our commitment to the hens in our care. Our employees are HAACP-certified and SQF-trained. And, as part of our United Egg Producer (UEP) guidelines, our animal care practices are subject to annual third-party audits.

Environmental Responsibility

As part of the Versova family of farms, Morning Fresh Farms is committed to advancing sustainable egg production while protecting the communities where our families and employees live, work and play. Through responsible manure management, feed efficiency improvements, recycling efforts, and ongoing conservation practices, we strive to reduce our environmental footprint and create a more sustainable future.

A key part of that commitment is our long-standing partnership with The Richlawn Company. For more than 40 years, The Richlawn Company has transformed poultry manure from Morning Fresh Farms into premium, organic-based fertilizer and soil products. At our Platteville facility, we transform nutrients into organic-based fertilizers and soil amendments that support thrivingsoils and productive landscapes.

The process creates a beneficial cycle that turns a farm byproduct into a valuable resource. Manure is purchased from the farm and either dried for use in fertilizer products or composted for use in soil blends before being distributed through major retailers and commercial channels. By finding innovative ways to maximize resources and reduce waste, Morning Fresh Farms and The Richlawn Company help support both agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability for generations to come.
